To join flockboss.com, users are required to supply, at minimum, a user id and password, an email address and a home zip code. The user id is used to keep track of your observations, and if you permit it, can be used by others to track your observations. The password is to prevent others from entering information using your user id. The email address is used by flockboss.com to send you reset information in case you forget your user id and/or password. It may also be used to send you information about flockboss.com features, activities and events. Flockboss.com ownership will not choose to share your email id with any third parties.
Some information on flockboss.com is available for non-members to view, so it is not necessary to join flockboss.com to use it; however, non-members cannot log trip reports and can’t use the ‘flock’ capabilities to follow the observations of selected groups of users.
Flockboss.com members have the capability to restrict access to their observations and other information so that only they themselves and/or other designated members may see them. Members also have the capability to share their observations and other types of information with everyone, and this is the default option for most types of information.
Flockboss.com uses cookies to keep track of member logins and to keep track of the most recent target zipcode used for viewing and adding trip reports and site descriptions. It is possible to use flockboss.com without cookies enabled in your browser, but the capabilities are quite limited.
